Kate Refine is a landscape designer working in the Chicagoland area. The ‘green industry’ has served as her home for the last 15 years.

Following her formal education as a graduate of the College of DuPage’s Horticulture program, she got her professional beginning at The Growing Place in Naperville, IL as a designer and garden coach.
 

Kate Refine Designs offers professional customized landscaping services including both landscape design and garden coaching. Throughout the process of landscape design, KRD practices sustainable landscaping efforts while employing the best management practices to keep the environment free of pesticides and herbicides.

 

Now Certified in Native Plant Landscape Design

I’m proud to be a certified Native Plant Landscape Designer trained through The Conservation Foundation and qualified to design landscapes that follow Conservation@Home principles. This certification allows me to create beautiful, sustainable outdoor spaces that support local ecosystems while meeting your aesthetic and functional goals.

Kate works to include majority native plants in all her designs.  Allowing landscapes to serve the clients and their families and friends, while providing habitat for the birds and butterflies too!
