I’m proud to share an exciting professional milestone: I successfully completed the Conservation@Home Professional training and am now a Certified Native Plant Landscape Designer and a trained ambassador of the Conservation@Home program. . I have always loved incorpoating native plants into home landscapes, and now I have a greater understanding of how important these plants are to the habitat, and to birds and butterflies who rely on them for food sources.

This certification represents specialized education in ecological design, focusing on landscapes that support biodiversity, improve soil and water health, and provide habitat for pollinators and wildlife. The training emphasized science-based design strategies, sustainable site planning, and plant selection methods that work with natural systems rather than against them.

For my clients, this means your landscape can do more than look beautiful — it can actively benefit the environment.

Native landscapes:

  • Require less water once established

  • Support birds, butterflies, and beneficial insects

  • Reduce chemical inputs

  • Improve soil structure and health

  • Increase resilience to local climate conditions

My goal has always been to design landscapes that balance aesthetics, function, and ecological value. This certification strengthens my ability to guide homeowners through thoughtful design decisions that enhance both their property and the surrounding ecosystem.

Whether you’re interested in a full native landscape transformation or incorporating native elements into your existing design, I’m excited to help you create an outdoor space that is beautiful, sustainable, and alive with purpose.

And the plants are gorgeous! Here are a few of my favorite sunny native perennials!
